AFI are recognised as one of the leading approved IPAF training providers in the UK. Operating nationwide from either your own premises* or our own extensive network of depots spread throughout the UK, you can be confident when choosing AFI as your training provider that we will be able to deliver a course to suit your needs.
Upon successful completion of an IPAF course you will receive a PAL (Powered Access Licence) card and an IPAF operator’s log book to record the various machines you operate.
Your PAL card is valid for 5 years giving instant recognition of your identity and the IPAF categories you’re qualified to operate.

Operator Training
A mix of theory and practical training, this course is designed to enable operators to manoeuvre, drive and position the machine safely and proficiently. It can be undertaken on scissor lifts, booms or trailer mounted platforms. Click Here To View PDF
Demonstrator Training
This course includes a test paper on legal requirements and provides delegates with the skills to familiarise operators with their responsibilities and demonstrate safe operating procedures. Click Here To View PDF
MEWPS for Management
This one day training course is designed to instruct supervisors and managers how to prepare for, and safely co-ordinate various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) within their control. Click Here To View PDF
Safe loading and Unloading
Delegates will learn how to carry out inspections and risk assessments as well as how to correctly position the vehicle, load and unload in a safe manner. The course has a minimum machine category requirement of scissor lifts and self-propelled booms is a 1 day course. Click Here To View PDF
MEWP Harness Training
Identification of appropriate protection equipment and use, correct condition and fitting of harness are examined within the course which covers a range of MEWPS.
